When you cannot see the cause of an effect (x), is it right to ignore the effect?
The effect I am considering is the enduring mystery of a life energy force known as Prana, Ether, Chi or Ki or Orgone. This phenomena is known by many names in different cultures and yet it remains undetected and unacknowledged by scientists.
What I would like to suggest is not supported by any scientific facts but is an intuitive idea of how we might identify what Prana is. Perhaps the science will come.
In the meantime, we have Quantum Physics filling the void between mainstream science and mysticism.

In Quantum Physics there is law that the observer brings something ‘unseen’ to what humans perceive as their ‘reality’.
In a nutshell, ‘consciousness participates in what is there’.
In addition, the famous double slit experiment confirms that consciousness not only participates but creates what we see.
It is not a fanciful step therefore to suggest that the mystery of Prana may be explained by the presence of a mindful observer for Prana manifests. If there is no observer such as when we breath unconsciously, then there is no Prana. It’s fascinating idea so let us look as some examples.
The most obvious is found in the practice of Hatha Yoga; breathwork or Pranayama. Various mindful breathing techniques are practised so that Prana is created during breathing. Whether this is alternate nostril breathing or counting breaths and pauses, the common factor is that consciousness is involved through intention.

To give a more everyday example, consider two fans watching a soccer game. One is watching the whole match on a screen, and the other part of the excited crowd in the stadium. We may all agree that watching events on screens such as sport, can feel flat and draining after a time. In contrast, a sports stadium full of enthusiastic supporters is a highly energised experience. The sport stadium feels ‘alive’ and very real because of the concentration of the spectators and their collective presence generating Prana.

Parliaments in the Bronze Age and Iron Age met at naturally energised artificial mounds and circles of stones such as Stone Henge in Southern England for the same reason. The underground water in the chalk hills generates ‘earth energy’ which is stored and released according to important solar and lunar events. The naturally occurring Prana which attaches itself to water, gives the observers a heightened experience of beauty and harmony. This created in the Druids and leaders there, the wisdom that comes with higher consciousness.
